Walker played in 37 games for the Knicks this season. He averaged 11.6 points in 25.6 minutes a night.
There were some bright spots over the course of the year but all in all, it was a failed experiment for the Knicks. Now, they should be looking to unload the final year of his contract.

The Knicks have worked out their young core during the final games of the season. Both Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley seemed to get comfortable with extended time and this is the goal when developing draft picks. The Knicks also have RJ Barrett, who will eventually need a contract extension.
If there is a trade partner for Walker, the Knicks should jump at the chance to unload a mistake that was made last offseason.
