Making the Case: Los Angeles Lakers
Whether it is on the offensive or defensive end, the Los Angeles Lakers could use some help.
That was clear from the early portion of the season. Something was not right in Los Angeles. LeBron James recently spoke and pointed out that they did not spend much time on the court together. This cannot be used as an excuse.
Part of the job is staying healthy, and the Lakers have shown that they cannot do so. Regardless, the Westbrook trade eliminated all possible depth.
You don’t know what you have until it’s gone. That’s how Los Angeles felt about Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

The duo was viewed as role players, and they were, but this is where the depth comes from. This is how a team can build a championship team. Both Kuzma and Caldwell-Pope could defend and score when needed.
The Lakers need replacements in that area now. Malik Beasley has shown that he can do just that and enters his prime at 26-years-old next season. He can take on a starting role or be viewed as a bench option. He knows how to play his role and co-exist with other big names.

A change is needed in L.A. Frank Vogel is out as head coach, and this was just the first step. The front office will find a new coach and focus on reshaping the roster into a winner.
