Making the Case: Sacramento Kings
At what point do the Sacramento Kings decide that it is time to stop rebuilding and find the right pieces to go with De’Aaron Fox?
Sacramento has been unable to put a winner on the court. After 16 postseason-less years, it might be time to go for it. Fox has proven that he is a franchise point guard and the face of the Kings.
Sacramento found trade partners for Marvin Bagley III and Buddy Hield at the NBA trade deadline but Fox stuck around. Now, this offseason could be one that watches the Kings add talent around him.
Gordon Hayward falls into that category if he is healthy. That has been the problem since signing a four-year, $120 million deal with the Hornets. He is averaging 17.6 points and shooting 40.6% from three-point range since joining Charlotte but he has played just 93 games in two years.

If he can put a full season together, Hayward is a nice complement to Fox. He is an experienced guard who can score at all three levels.
On the floor, Hayward is a big name but his impact off the floor would mean a lot to a team looking for stability. Hayward can take over as a leader in the locker room. This is important with a new coach coming in as well.

This is not to say that Hayward is the missing piece for a championship but he is one that could get the Kings moving in the right direction.
