This Hornets-Kings Trade Lands Gordon Hayward In Sacramento

Gordon Hayward, Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Hornets, NBA Trade Rumors

The Sacramento Kings have been in the news recently and quite frankly, it’s not positive. They recently extended its league-long stretch of 16 years without an NBA postseason appearance. Alvin Gentry will not return as head coach of the Kings but is discussing a front-office role with the team.

Donte DiVincenzo, who was acquired in a midseason trade, criticized the Kings for allegedly mishandling minutes and starts for certain players. The relationship might be broken there and worse, it brings the culture of Sacramento into question.

The lack of success for so long is glaring. The front office has been unable to put a winner on the field for quite some time now and it does not look like it is going to change. Once again, the Kings find themselves in trade talks to bring in some new talent and attempt to turn things around.

The Charlotte Hornets could be interested as they want to move the contract of Gordon Hayward. They have recently emerged as a possibility for Russell Westbrook because it is the type of move that would clear cap space.

Charlotte has two options, Hayward or Terry Rozier, that would shed some money and it is likely that Hayward is the choice moving forward.

It would be interesting to see the Kings decide to take on Hayward and his contract but anything is possible. Let’s take a closer look at how this NBA trade scenario could look.
