The NBA Playoffs are about to begin and Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are looking to get back to being serious NBA Finals contenders. However, it is never too early to look ahead at the upcoming offseason. Some speculation has arisen that the Los Angeles Lakers could consider a trade for star forward Anthony Davis, and the Warriors have been speculated as a potential destination.
Granted, all of this is pure speculation and it would be hard for the two teams to come together on a deal. But, it is an idea that has been presented by others.
Speaking of others who have talked about the idea, Colin Cowherd suggested a massive blockbuster trade between these two teams. His suggested trade would send Thompson and James Wiseman to the Lakers for Anthony Davis.
Wow. Talk about a lot to digest in a very short period of time. That kind of a blockbuster would completely change the landscape of the Western Conference.

From the Warriors’ side of things, being able to acquire a superstar like Anthony Davis would have to be of interest. But would that entice them to give up Klay Thompson? That would be a hard sell regardless of who was being offered to the Warriors.
Davis is coming off of another big season with the Lakers, although he did miss a lot of time due to injury. He ended up averaging 23.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. In addition to those averages, he shot 53.2 percent from the floor overall.

As for Thompson, the Warriors saw their longtime shooting guard score 20.4 points per game to go along with 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Thompson did knock down 38.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Adding in a young big man with big-time talent in Wiseman would be another nice addition for the Lakers.
Don’t expect anything to come from this speculation, but the deal could have merit if both sides are open to moving one of their main stars. Do you think this deal would make sense for the Warriors and Lakers?
