New Orleans Pelicans

This would be the biggest blockbuster of the three options but can also be the least likely. The New Orleans Pelicans have made improvements this season and can continue to build something in the offseason.

Randle spent one year in New Orleans and it was his second-best statistical season of his career, behind last season of course. The Pelicans made a splash when they acquired CJ McCollum from the Portland Trail Blazers at the deadline.

The New Orleans Pelicans currently ninth in the Western Conference and is on pace to have a chance in the play-in tournament. Let’s remember, they’ve been without Zion Williamson all season long.

This is where the front office will have to make a decision. It has been assumed that Williamson is the franchise player moving forward but this season might have changed that tone.

By acquiring Randle, the big three along with McCollum and Brandon Ingram would give the New Orleans Pelicans a foundation moving forward. For the Knicks, they would recreate the big three of Duke with Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Cam Reddish.

Once Reddish was traded to the New York Knicks this season, the NBA trade rumors involving Zion Williamson immediately began. There would be other factors in this deal but it seems clear that Williamson would have to be involved if Randle is being moved to the New Orleans Pelicans.
