Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
Going out and landing Myles Turner as an upgrade from Precious Achiuwa and Chris Boucher at the center position would be a great move for the Toronto Raptors to make, especially since he fits the idea of a defensive-minded big man next to Pascal Siakam.
However, the Raptors have one of the better starting-fives in the league when healthy with VanVleet, Trent Jr., Barnes, Anunoby and Siakam, plus there is no way that they will be willing to move both Anunoby and a first-round pick for Myles Turner.
Entering the final year of his contract, there is no assurance that Turner would be willing to stay in Toronto long-term, whereas OG Anunoby is already under contract with them through the 2024-25 season.
A straight-up swap of Anunoby for Turner could wind up working out for both sides, but it is much more likely that the Raptors will continue growing their core and potentially look to add a young big man via the NBA Draft.

There will be quite a few options for the Raptors to consider in their frontcourt near the end of the first-round this season, which is why going out and trading a core piece of their roster for one year of Myles Turner may not make much sense overall, especially if they are trading away that 2024 first-round pick as well.
