Does this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?
The only way the New York Knicks will look to trade Julius Randle this upcoming offseason is if they can receive a ton of value in return.
Draft picks are great, but they really do nothing for the Knicks as a franchise right now, especially since this front-office is going to be looking to make moves to set them up for success immediately during the 2022-23 season.
Getting players who are ready to win right now in return for Randle will be key for the Knicks, which is why Myles Turner and Buddy Hield could be very appealing to them.
Turner fits Tom Thibodeau’ defensive-focused system perfectly and being a career 40% three-point shooter, Buddy Hield would be a nice fit on the perimeter offensively next to Evan Fournier and Alec Burks for the time being.

R.J. Barrett has emerged as the face of the Knicks and the future of this franchise this season, which is why Julius Randle’s long-term role has come into question.
Ultimately, it does look like the Knicks will look to keep Randle and surround him and Barrett with a third high-level talent, but do not count out them looking to move the All-Star forward if they get a good deal on their hands.
