Could The New York Knicks Look To Move On From Julius Randle?

The New York Knicks have a solid group of youth on their roster that they are excited about long-term and with R.J. Barrett emerging as a key superstar-like talent next to Julius Randle this year, this front office is very optimistic that this “down year” was just a fluke. 

Entering the offseason, the Knicks are projected to be slightly over the salary cap, but well under the tax line, giving them a handful of possibilities on how to fix things moving forward. 

The $106 million still owed to Julius Randle through the 2025-26 season will definitely be a topic of discussion for the Knicks front office heading into the offseason. 

Compared to last season, Randle’s overall production has declined and he has seemed to lose touch within the locker room as of late. The dysfunction of this team on the court has definitely played a role in the Knicks’ downfall this season, as has Julius Randle’s inability to change his style of play to better suit them.

Should they make him available in trade talks this offseason, New York should generate a handful of interest around the league for Julius Randle.
