Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Oklahoma City Thunder
A favorite to win the NBA’s Most Improved Player award entering the season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has done nothing but produce for the rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder.
He has missed some time this season due to injuries, but in 56 games, the young combo-guard has averaged 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and has shot 45.3% from the floor this season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has also recorded 20 games with at least 30 points this season, the 13th most in the NBA, and he recorded just his second career triple-double earlier this season with 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in a 108-94 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
Every season that he has been in the league, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become a better all-around offensive weapon and if the Thunder were not a young, rebuilding franchise, Gilgeous-Alexander would have had a really strong case for being a first-time All-Star this year.

Receiving a five-year, $172.5 million rookie extension prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has high expectations placed upon him that he has lived up to so far.
The Thunder have a lot of potential moving forward and with all the talented young pieces on their roster, Oklahoma City has a chance to turn themselves into the NBA’s next young dynasty over the next several years.
