Do The Memphis Grizzlies Have Any Concerning Weaknesses?
Other than their lack of three-point shooting depth, the Memphis Grizzlies really do not present any major weaknesses as a team entering the playoffs other than their inexperience, but that is something they cannot control.
Memphis has done an excellent job of controlling the pace of play all season long, they rank inside the Top-10 in both offensive and defensive rating, they make the second-most and attempt the most shots out of any team in the league this season, and on top of everything else, the Grizzlies do an excellent job of forcing mistakes and turnovers on their opponent’s end of things.
They can defend on the perimeter, they can defend on the interior and Memphis can score in the paint, which is why this team really does not have any weaknesses entering the postseason.
It is possible that injuries could play a role in this team’s lack of success, as Ja Morant will be re-evaluated in two weeks with a tweaked knee, as head coach Taylor Jenkins calls it, and Dillon Brooks continues to deal with ankle discomfort stemming from a sprain that kept him out nearly two-and-a-half months. Brandon Clarke has also been dealing with a hip issue as of late, which has forced him to miss some games.
