Re-Sign Mo Bamba On New, Long-Term Deal
As mentioned earlier, Mo Bamba is set to become a retsirtced free agent in the offseason and will carry a qualifying offer of $10.1 million from the Magic into free agency.
The market for centers around the league is slim right now and while Mo Bamba could receive some interest from other rebuilding franchises, it seems likely as of right now that both Bamba and the Magic have mutual interest in hammering out a long-term extension.
At 23-years-old and in his fourth NBA season, Bamba has finally been given the chance to be the team’s starting center this season with Nikola Vucevic gone and the young big man has delivered.
In 61 total games with Orlando, Mo Bamba has averaged career-highs in points (10.3), rebounds (8.0), blocks (1.7) and both field goals made per game (4.1) and field goals attempted per game (8.5). Bamba is also shooting 36.3% from three-point range on just less than four attempts per game.

Being able to stretch the floor as a 7-foot big man with a 7’10” wingspan, almost nobody in the league can contest Mo Bamba’s shot and he is a force to be reckoned with defensively on the interior because of his length.
Next to Wendell Carter Jr., Mo Bamba has found a lot of success with Orlando this season, which is why it is very likely that he will not be going anywhere when free agency begins.
