Focus On Adding Depth To Frontcourt In Free Agency
Aside from the NBA Draft, the Pistons will have the ability to make some moves in free agency.
Jerami Grant’s status is a question mark and with almost everyone else on the Pistons’ roster being on a rookie deal, Detroit has plenty of cap space to play around with and potentially add one or two more impactful players to their roster.
Jalen Brunson has been mentioned numerous times as a potential free agent target for Detroit, but it would make the most sense for the Pistons to target more frontcourt depth.
Kelly Olynyk will be a likely trade asset in the offseason for the Pistons, leaving Isaiah Stewart and Luka Garza as their only other options in the frontcourt.

Maybe they will not be able to land big name free agents, but the Pistons could easily target players like Mo Bamba, Chris Boucher, Mitchell Robinson, or even make a run at Suns’ restricted free agent Deandre Ayton.
Their backcourt is not as much of a problem as many think, as Killian Hayes, Cory Joseph, Frank Jackson and Cade Cunningham have things under control there, and both Saddiq Bey and Jerami Grant have everything figured out on the wing.
Should the Pistons decide to trade Grant, maybe this will open up the door for them to target a wing in free agency, but addressing their needs for another big man next to Isaiah Stewart is a must, especially if they do not draft one of the better big men prospects in the 2022 NBA Draft.
