The Detroit Pistons have been near “rock-bottom” in the NBA for quite some time now, as they have made the playoffs just twice since 2010 and they have not won a playoff series since 2008.
The era of the “Bad Boy Pistons” is long gone, but the Pistons are starting to build something special. Drafting Cade Cunningham first overall in 2021 was a big boost to this franchise and GM Troy Weaver has been doing a nice job of freeing up cap space and acquiring draft assets for future years.
While they have been eliminated from postseason contention this season and will be picking in the Top-5 of the draft once again, there is a lot to be excited about if you are a Pistons fan.
However, this upcoming offseason will be crucial, as it could very well result in the rebuild ending earlier than expected or being dragged out for several more years.
