Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder (20-49) took on Dejounte Murray and the San Antonio Spurs (27-43) in part of the Wednesday NBA slate. The Spurs managed to barely get by with a 122-120 win.
Both of these teams have struggled to achieve much success this season and are in the midst of a long-term rebuilding effort. This was a competitive outing that came down the wire.
The Spurs outscored the Thunder in each of the initial two-quarters of the game and held a 68-56 lead at halftime. However, Oklahoma City mounted an admirable comeback and had even tied it up 112-112 with 4:57 left to play.
However, both sides do have an intriguing point guard that provides fans with excitement when watching their favorite team undergo a transitional period.
