Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies do not “need” to do anything in the offseason, as they have turned themselves into a young championship contender, but they will have cap space to play around with in the offseason.
Kyle Anderson, Jarrett Culver and Tyus Jones will all be free agents in the offseason, freeing up over $20 million for the Grizzlies and the team is projected to be almost $50 million under the tax line for the 2022-23 season.
This number will change drastically once they agree to a new long-term deal with Ja Morant, who will be extension-eligible in the offseason, but the Memphis Grizzlies will still have the ability to add a max contract to their roster should they wish to do so.
Adding Zach LaVine to a roster with Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillon Brooks, Desmond Bane and other young, athletic players instantly makes the Grizzlies an even better team than they already are and they would finally have the second star player to lean on other than Morant’s production.

Next to LaVine, Ja Morant could really become a prime MVP candidate and Zach LaVine fits in really well with Memphis’ system given that he leans on his athleticism for production.
Transition-wise, the Memphis Grizzlies would be extremely dangerous and while he is not talked about as a defender, LaVine can hold his own on both ends of the court at an above-average level.
It is not going to happen, but GM Zach Kleiman has done an excellent job building this young Memphis Grizzlies team and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him have another trick up his sleeve in the offseason.
