Chicago Bulls

It really should not come as a surprise to see the Bulls want to be “all-in” on Zach LaVine and offer him a max contract to be one of the faces of the franchise for many years to come.

LaVine has been with the Bulls since the start of the 2017-18 season and for the last five years, he has cemented himself as one of the best offensive talents in the entire NBA.

With the Bulls, Zach LaVine has averaged 24.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and has shot 46.9% from the floor, 39% from three-point range. LaVine is the catalyst for the Bulls’ offense next to DeMar DeRozan this season and with their All-Star trio intact, the Bulls will be a contending team for many years to come.

Recently in an interview with Bleacher Report, Zach LaVine brushed off the idea of a new contract with the Bulls, stating that his focus was on the playoffs.

“For me, it’s not even about my contract,” LaVine told Bleacher Report. “I’m a competitor. I want to go to the playoffs and play on the big stage.

“Contract, everything, that all comes. But I look at it day by day. You can’t get to April in a day. You’re gonna have to play and compete each and every day to get there, and then once the playoffs come, we gotta go do our thing. You know I’m really excited. I’m really excited to be on that stage, because I haven’t been there yet.”

Re-signing with the Bulls is definitely on the back of Zach LaVine’s mind, but he truly is interested in being a free agent for once and seeing what could happen.

This does not mean that LaVine will not re-sign with the Bulls, but the All-Star guard is keeping all of his options open right now, as his only focus is on winning in the postseason with Chicago.

Whatever price LaVine wants in the offseason, the Bulls better give it to him because should they lose Zach LaVine in free agency, everything that Chicago has built over the years will come crashing down.

Zach LaVine is the foundation of this organization and without him, they would not be in a contending position.
