San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are another rebuilding team out in the Western Conference, but they seem to be a little farther along than the OKC Thunder given that they already have an established core in Dejounte Murray and Keldon Johnson.
Overall though, the Spurs have no identity right now and the offseason is going to be very telling of what direction this organization heads.
Murray and Johnson are great young talents, but they are not enough to make the Spurs real threats in the Western Conference. Adding some high-level talents is a must, yet it will be hard to convince All-Star talents to go to San Antonio and join what looks to be a rebuilding team.
Once again, the San Antonio Spurs will look to the NBA Draft to build their championship-contending team of the future, but they could find a key piece of the puzzle that they are missing right now in P.J. Washington.

The frontcourt has been a key question mark for the Spurs and while Keldon Johnson has done a good job of playing the “power-forward” role, he is more of a wing than a low-post threat.
Adding a versatile forward like P.J. Washington can open up the Spurs’ offense a little more and allow them to really capitalize on the athletes that they have.
Not to mention, the Hornets did talk with the San Antonio Spurs ahead of the trade deadline on a deal involving both P.J. Washington and Jakob Poeltl, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
San Antonio’s interest in P.J. Washington could carry over to the offseason, resulting in a potential trade happening ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft.
