Kyle Kuzma and the Washington Wizards (29-36) took on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers (29-37) in part of the Friday NBA slate. The Lake Show won with 122-109 being the final score.

The major storyline entering this matchup was clear; Kuzma is facing his former team on their home floor.

Kuzma will surely look to show the Lakers making the trade to send him to the Wizards was a mistake, even though he’s been doing just that throughout the season. He lived up to the hype with 23 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

What ended up being the real storyline for the night was LeBron James dropping 50 points with incredible efficiency to lead the Lakers to a victory. He now also leads the NBA in points per game.

It was an underwhelming scoring night from Russell Westbrook, who finished with five points on 2-11 FG. Malik Monk (21), Talen Horton-Tucker (15), and Austin Reaves (12) stepped up and each reached double-figures.

Both the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Wizards are angling for play-in positioning. Los Angeles is already in the mix, but Washington finds itself on the outside looking in.
