Yet Another Scoring Weapon For Miami Heat To Utilize

What has made the Miami Heat a very dangerous team this season on the offensive end of the floor is that they have many capable, confident scorers not only in their starting rotation but on their bench as well.

We all saw what Jimmy Butler did in the 2020 NBA Finals, proving that he can be an elite-level scorer, and we have seen what Bam Adebayo and Kyle Lowry can do with the ball in their hands offensively, but a lot of the question marks surrounding the Heat in the offseason revolved around their bench.

Tyler Herro drew a lot of criticism last season for his play and he has come back this year to be one of the best secondary scorers in the league, almost definitely resulting in him being named this year’s recipient of the Sixth Man of the Year award.

Along with Herro, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Caleb Martin, Dewayne Dedmon, and Omer Yurtseven have all stepped up at times this season to be double-digit scorers for this team off-the-bench. Now, with Victor Oladipo back in the mix, the Heat becomes a much deeper team and they get yet another scoring weapon to utilize.

A former two-time All-Star, Victor Oladipo may not be able to move as well as he once did on the floor, but he can still be a very effective scorer for Miami off the bench.

How the Heat plan on utilizing Oladipo moving forward will be very interesting to watch, especially given his injury history, but the 29-year-old guard proved on Monday that he can still be an effective scorer.

Perhaps the most important thing Oladipo showed people against the Rockets was the fact that he was confident running in transition and confident being a primary ball-handler for this team.

Having depth is extremely important for any championship-caliber team and depth is the one thing that held the Heat back in 2020 from defeating the Lakers and winning a championship.

Now, with everyone healthy again and Victor Oladipo only going to get better as he continues to get back out on the floor, the Miami Heat’s offensive rating of 7th in the league is only going to go up.
