SuperSonics Franchise Has A Rich History
While they would not be considered the “same franchise” as the SuperSonics that the Oklahoma City Thunder once were, the “SuperSonics” name has a rich history to it.
In 41 seasons in Seattle, the SuperSonics went 1745-1585, including 22 trips to the playoffs, three conference titles and one championship in 1979.
Ray Allen, Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp and Jack Sikma are some of the greats to have played in a SuperSonics uniform and overall, Seattle was one of the better NBA franchises on the West Coast.
They always seemed to be in the playoff hunt in the Western Conference and bringing the SuperSonics back as an NBA franchise would just feel right with long-time NBA fans.
