Memphis Grizzlies Are One Of The Most Improved Teams In The Entire NBA
The MVP award is supposed to stand for the “Most Valuable Player” in the league, but as of past years, the award seems to be given to the best player on one of the best teams in the league. In fact, 12 of the last 20 MVP award recipients were members of the team that had the best record in the league, and every MVP recipient since 2018 has been on a team that finished inside of the Top-4 in their conference standings.
This season, the Memphis Grizzlies currently reside as the 3-seed in the Western Conference and they have the third-best record in the league right now. In a matter of a few days, they may surpass the Warriors in the standings and take control of the second-best record in the NBA.
Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, Steven Adams, and so many others on the Grizzlies deserve credit for how this team has performed, including head coach Taylor Jenkins, but without Ja Morant, this team would not be close to being a true contender.
Many are saying the Western Conference is a two-team race this season between the Suns and Warriors, but the Grizzlies rank inside the Top-8 in both offensive and defensive rating this season, making them one of the most balanced teams in the league.

Being one of the most improved teams in the league and Ja Morant leading the way, it is hard to say that Ja Morant does not deserve credit for what has transpired in Memphis this season.
Leading the Grizzlies in points, assists, and field goals, Ja Morant is going to be the league’s Most Improved Player on the league’s most improved team. He may be young and not have a lot of experience in this league, but Morant is the definition of a “valuable player”.
