Zion Williamson
The New Orleans Pelicans and Zion Williamson don’t seem to be on the same page. While Williamson has said all the right things publicly, the people in his camp have not been as positive since he was selected first overall in 2019.
Basically from the start, members of his family have reportedly been pushing for him to leave the Pelicans. Not even giving the organization a chance to build up a winning product is not fair. David Griffin has made some questionable decisions, but the trade to bring in CJ McCollum and Larry Nance Jr. ahead of the deadline from the Portland Trail Blazers was a good one.
McCollum, Williamson, and Brandon Ingram are a strong trio, especially on offense. Jonas Valanciunas is a very good center and Herb Jones has burst onto the scene as a rookie as a versatile piece. The makings of a solid team are in place, but they need Williamson healthy.
He hasn’t played in a game yet this season, which is certainly concerning. Williamson has missed more games than he has played in during his NBA career as health remains a huge red flag.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: NBA Executive Expects Zion Williamson To End Up With Knicks
There has been a lot of talk about him eventually ending up with the New York Knicks, but that isn’t an ideal landing spot as long as Julius Randle is in town. Instead, the best early landing spot for him is the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Minnesota has a hole in the frontcourt at power forward that Williamson can fill. Karl-Anthony Towns, the self-proclaimed best shooting big man in NBA history, is a perfect complement to him in the frontcourt.

As long as it doesn’t cost Anthony Edwards or Towns in a deal, the Timberwolves should go all-in on Williamson to make one of the best young cores in the league.
