Zion Williamson – New Orleans Pelicans
The Zion Williamson situation in New Orleans is starting to get very interesting, as there seems to be some tensions rising between the young All-Star and management.
Williamson has been out since this past offseason after having foot surgery for a fractured foot and has been away from the team all year long rehabbing from said injury. In terms of the same injury to past NBA players, Zion Williamson should have been back by now, but it does seem like there is more to the story here than just a foot injury.
There were rumors leading up to the 2019 NBA Draft that Zion Williamson did not want to play in New Orleans and now, getting ready to enter the final year of his rookie contract, we could very much see the answer to if Zion wants to remain a member of the Pelicans.
How this situation will play out is very unknown at this time, but Zion Williamson’s frustrations in New Orleans are more of storylines than headlines at this point.

There is a real chance that he could be on the move in the offseason and should he request a trade, the Indiana Pacers may want to dangle Malcolm Brogdon as trade bait to try and acquire Williamson.
The best thing the Pacers can do for themselves is to pair Tyrese Haliburton and Chris Duarte with a young star and there is no better young All-Star potentially available than Zion Williamson right now.
Injuries are a concern with him and his attitude is definitely not favorable to the Indiana Pacers, but if he is willing to play for them, they need to get him in a Pacers’ uniform as soon as possible.

Zion Williamson is an intriguing young All-Star that the Pacers can pair with Haliburton long-term and from the other side of things, the Pelicans may be interested in moving Zion to Indiana simply to add Malcolm Brogdon as their point guard.
A lot would need to happen from now through the offseason for this to be a possibility for the Pacers, but they should absolutely be monitoring Zion Williamson’s status in New Orleans.
