Zion Williamson – New Orleans Pelicans
Zion Williamson was supposed to be the savior of the New Orleans Pelicans franchise and many hyped him up to be the next best player in the NBA since LeBron James, which still could happen, but it does appear that his time in New Orleans could be coming to an end.
After suffering a fractured foot in the offseason and having surgery, Zion still has not made his season debut and there seems to be some tension arising between the young All-Star and New Orleans’ front office.
Should matters not get resolved, Zion Williamson could be the best player available on the trade market in the offseason. Portland would be foolish not to target him, even if there are concerns about his injury history and long-term durability.
Who they would offer to New Orleans would be a major question seeing as the two sides just made a big trade involving CJ McCollum at the trade deadline, but Portland has draft picks and could get a third or fourth team involved to get the Pelicans another “win-now” piece in favor of Zion.

The idea of pairing Zion Williamson with Damian Lillard definitely has to be intriguing for the Portland Trail Blazers at this point in time and what is very interesting is the fact that Zion has been rehabbing in the Portland area.
Being familiar with the area already and doing his rehab in Portland, it could make a lot of sense for Zion Williamson to want to join the Trail Blazers, should he request a trade.
