New York Knicks Receive: G Russell Westbrook, G Austin Reaves, 2027 first-round pick (top-14 protected; if not conveyed in 2027, the pick will turn into the Lakers’ 2028 second-round pick and the Washington Wizards’ 2028 second-round pick)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Kemba Walker, G/F Evan Fournier, G Alec Burks, C Nerlens Noel

In an NBA trade scenario, the New York Knicks would land Russell Westbrook in a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers during the upcoming offseason.

Along with Westbrook, the Knicks would land Austin Reaves along with a lottery-protected 2027 first-round pick to add some additional value into the mix.

The Lakers would take back Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, Alec Burks, and Nerlens Noel in order to be able to part with Westbrook. The expiring contract of Westbrook would enable the Knicks to clear a massive amount of salary-cap space after the 2022-23 season by getting off the deals of those players.

There isn’t time for the Lakers to waste with LeBron James’ championship window. He’s already facing knee issues that continue to keep him sidelined as it is. If something isn’t going to work, there needs to be a real effort to shake things up as soon as possible.
