Tom Thibodeau – New York Knicks

In his first season with the Knicks last year, Tom Thibodeau coached the Knicks to the playoffs for the first time since 2013 as the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference, the Knicks had the third-best rated defense, and Thibodeau was named the NBA’s Coach of the Year.

Year 2 though has not gone too well for Tom Thibodeau or the Knicks, as they currently find themselves 25-34 on the season, now 3.5 games back from the play-in tournament.

The Knicks have gone from ranking 3rd in defensive rating last season to ranking 16th in defensive rating this season and they just do not look like a group that is in sync with each other.

They have no reliable scoring production, oftentimes look lost on the floor and they have blown three 20-plus point leads in their last seven games!

New York has won just one game since the start of February and with their final two games of this month after the All-Star break being against the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers, it is hard to envision that they will be better than 1-9 this month.

Last season was magical for the Knicks and they found a lot of success on the floor, but major things have gone wrong this season and Tom Thibodeau definitely deserves a lot of the blame for this.

They have basically the same roster from last season and seeing as almost every player on the roster has regressed this year, Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks’ management will have a lot of soul searching to do in the offseason.
