3. Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are a unique situation when it comes to the point guard position. Because they run so much of their offense through Nikola Jokic at the center spot, they do not need a traditional ball-handler. Jokic leads the team with 7.9 assists per game as the lead playmaker.
But, the Nuggets are a team that could certainly still use some depth at the position. If Jamal Murray isn’t going to return this season, the only true point guards they have on the roster are Monte Morris and Facundo Campazzo.
Rookie Bones Hyland has been playing some point guard off the bench for the Nuggets while Austin Rivers can also cover there if need be. Will Barton is a solid playmaker in his own right, as well, but having a little more depth can’t hurt.
DJ Augustin would certainly be an upgrade for the Nuggets from a shooting perspective on Hyland, Rivers, and Campazzo and is a steadier point guard than the first two names mentioned. Augustin also has 38 games of playoff experience so he won’t be undone by the bright lights there.

The Nuggets have an open roster spot, so they will be looking to add someone in the buyout market. Augustin would make for a solid target to shore up the backcourt.
