DeAndre Jordan
If DeAndre Jordan is bought out and becomes a free agent, it would be the second time in six months the Los Angeles Lakers big man had that occur. If it does, he could be met with a very cold market.
Jordan has been ineffective when given minutes for the Lakers, a troubling trend that began during his time with the Brooklyn Nets. He just isn’t an impact player anymore, as he is a poor defender and his waning athleticism can no longer be relied upon to compensate for it.
Jordan was removed from the Nets’ rotation altogether down the stretch last season, as he didn’t play a single second in the postseason. He is once again glued to a bench, as the 33-year old has four appearances for 42 minutes in 2022.
No longer a part of the rotation, the Lakers could cut him loose to bring on someone they feel can help them win games. Finding a landing spot for Jordan is easier said than done.

There likely won’t be many teams jumping at the chance to bring him aboard. He cannot be relied upon to play many minutes and it would not be surprising if no one signed him following a buyout.
A young team that needs some veteran depth could have some interest, such as the Charlotte Hornets or Minnesota Timberwolves. Any contending team that needs a big man to play minutes will look elsewhere.
