Memphis Grizzlies
It has been a genuinely special 2021-22 season for the Memphis Grizzlies. The one thing that appears to be holding them back is not having a sufficient co-star on the perimeter alongside Ja Morant.
Managing to add a player like Bradley Beal would present the Grizzlies with the option of hunting favorable matchups after teams have to switch throughout the course of a play.
Come playoff time, teams will surely look to blitz Morant throughout key moments. Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane are helpful players, but Beal would present a more versatile option to make the defense pay in those situations.
During last year’s playoffs, the Utah Jazz stayed in a deep drop against him in his playoff debut—enabling Morant to frequently get to a right-hand floater comfortably in the gap. A switching scheme would present different looks for the Grizzlies’ offense.

It wouldn’t come cheap for the Grizzlies to acquire Beal and it would come with some risk. However, if it panned out, it could be the type of move for Memphis to take the next step as a team.
