Brooklyn Nets
We should not count out the Brooklyn Nets making a significant roster move in the offseason. Right now, nobody knows what to expect from their new-look “Big 3” with the addition of Ben Simmons and there is no information on whether or not Kyrie Irving will be in Brooklyn next season or even be allowed to play in Brooklyn next season due to the COVID vaccine requirements in New York City.
What the Nets will do in the offseason ultimately comes down to how this season plays out, but they could absolutely look to make a big splash in free agency, especially if Irving is to move on from this team.
Should Kyrie Irving remain with the Nets, bringing in a player like Deandre Ayton could be tough financially, but Brooklyn could actually make it work via a sign-and-trade with Phoenix, that is assuming that Brooklyn Nets owner Joseph Tsai is willing to pay a ton of money in luxury taxes.
Maybe they would look to move Ben Simmons if they were to acquire Deandre Ayton, but the Nets also have Joe Harris ($18.6M), Seth Curry ($8.5M), Patty Mills ($6.2M) and possibly Nic Claxton (sign-and-trade) as options to acquire Deandre Ayton in the offseason.

Again, this is definitely a long-shot, but the Brooklyn Nets have shown interest in adding another big man to their roster. Rookie Day’Ron Sharpe is not someone this franchise can rely on in their championship pursuit quite yet and while Nic Claxton has shown promise as their center, the Nets have still considered names like Pacers’ Myles Turner and Rockets’ Christian Wood in recent trade rumors this season.
Adding another center to their roster could very well be something the Brooklyn Nets show interest in this summer, especially with Andre Drummond, Nic Claxton and LaMarcus Aldridge being on expiring contracts.
