Detroit Pistons
They may have the worst record in the NBA this season, but the Detroit Pistons are a young, rising team in this league. The problem with Detroit right now is that they are very early on in their rebuilding process and just looking to see what they have for the future.
Cade Cunningham, this past year’s No. 1 overall pick, has the potential to be a star and with the emergence of Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart as well, the Pistons have a really good thing goin for themselves.
They are still a few years out from being anything special, but the Detroit Pistons are going to have some cap space in the offseason and they are said to be interested in adding another key big man to pair with Isaiah Stewart in their frontcourt.
There was some trade interest in Knicks’ big man Mitchell Robinson leading up to the trade deadline, someone who will be available in free agency for the Detroit Pistons this upcoming offseason, but Phoenix Suns’ Deandre Ayton has been said to be on Detroit’s radar for quite some time now.

Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus wrote earlier this season that the Detroit Pistons are going to be in the market for a big man with their projected cap space this upcoming offseason and that Deandre Ayton could very well be their “primary target”, even though many around the league anticipate him re-signing with the Suns.
Finding the right pieces to put around Cade Cunningham is the main goal of GM Troy Weaver right now, which is one of the main reasons why Jerami Grant’s name was brought up so much in trade rumors leading up to the NBA trade deadline last week.
Trading Grant is still a possibility, especially since moving him could not only bring in many future assets, but plenty of salary space to make Deandre Ayton the Detroit Pistons’ highest paid player as well.
