How This Trade Impacts Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have to upgrade the roster. At full health, this is a team that can compete for a title with their Big 3 of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving. But, the team looks like it will never be at full strength and needs to upgrade the rest of the roster to remain one of the best teams in the league.
This deal with the Indiana Pacers would help them achieve that. If there is any truth to the rumors that Harden will be moving on this offseason, the team needs to do everything they can to get into a position to win a title this year.
Joe Harris is an important piece of the puzzle for the Nets, but if there is a chance he will miss the remainder of the season, he can’t help them from the sidelines. Including him in this deal along with Nic Claxton, who has reportedly been involved in plenty of trade rumors himself, greatly improves their chances of winning now.
Turner can be the defensive anchor for the Nets as an elite rim protector. He has shown that he is capable of doing more than just spacing the floor offensively as well, as he will have plenty of one-on-one opportunities to take advantage of, given the attention players on the Nets garner from opposing defenses.

If Brooklyn is offered a deal like this by Indiana, they would be hard-pressed to pass it up. Turner is a huge upgrade at arguably the weakest spot on the team and provides the help the team needs to win now.
