Boston Celtics Receive: G De’Aaron Fox, F Maurice Harkless
Sacramento Kings Receive: G Marcus Smart, G Romeo Langford, F Aaron Nesmith, F Juancho Hernangomez, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2024 First-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick

This trade would see the Sacramento Kings take the route of prioritizing depth and youth over a second star player. Marcus Smart and two young wings would be sent to Sacramento while the Boston Celtics would get a third star to pair alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

De’Aaron Fox is playing well this season but is having somewhat of a down year in comparison to last year. The guard is averaging 21.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 24.8 percent from three-point land.

Smart has been struggling to shoot efficiently this year, but he’s done everything else well for the C’s.

The Oklahoma State product is averaging 11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.8 steals while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 30.7 percent from deep.

Meanwhile, the two young wings Boston would be sending over in this deal have had limited opportunities this year. Romeo Langford has gotten some run, but Aaron Nesmith has barely played at all in Ime Udoka’s tight rotations.

The Kings would also get three unprotected first-round picks in this deal. But the real question is, why would both sides do it? Would the Boston Celtics really trade this much draft capital? Are the Kings willing to trade Fox for a package like this one?
