How This Trade Impacts Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings pulled off a big trade acquiring Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers. That should help keep their chances at a playoff spot alive and could deter them from moving on from Harrison Barnes.
Barnes will be the starting small forward and his 3-point shooting is even more important now as the Kings have three players in De’Aaron Fox, Sabonis and Richaun Holmes that won’t hurt teams from behind the 3-point line. Teams will clog the paint and make things difficult for that trio without a floor-spacer such as Barnes around.
However, the Kings could still opt to move on from him. Picking up another first-round pick could be too much to pass up on as this team is still a ways away from being contenders in the Western Conference.
The Kings could very well sneak into the postseason and snap their 15-year playoff drought, which will be considered an achievement by some. But, they should continue operating with an eye toward the future and this deal with the Boston Celtics would be doing that.

Al Horford is now 35-years old, but he would be a great backup option at both the power forward and center spots. He also brings plenty of playoff experience to a roster that is lacking it, especially if they move on from Barnes.
