Harrison Barnes – Sacramento Kings

The Kings find themselves in a very intriguing situation ahead of this year’s trade deadline because while they have missed the playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons, there are no real indications on what they plan to do at the deadline!

One would think that they would look to “buy” talent seeing as they are just two games back from the 10-seed in the Western Conference, but they always seem like they are willing to trade away some of their better talents for draft picks.

De’Aaron Fox has seen his name come up in trade rumors quite a bit over recent weeks, along with both Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III. On top of everything else, Harrison Barnes is being pursued by multiple playoff-contending teams and seems like the most likely player on this roster to be dealt.

Now in his 10th NBA season, Barnes has gone from NBA champion with the Warriors and being on top of the NBA world to hitting rock-bottom with the Kings. However, he has really taken the next step in his career with the Kings and has turned himself into an extremely reliable two-way talent that can be a No. 3 scoring option on a title-contending team.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Jazz has been in contact with the Kings about possibly trading for Harrison Barnes and the New Orleans Pelicans have also been mentioned as a possible suitor for the veteran forward by HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto

Given their need for another wing scorer, the Boston Celtics could also show a level of interest in someone like Harrison Barnes to pair with All-Stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, as could the Dallas Mavericks given their need to find more scoring talent to put around All-Star Luka Doncic.

Harrison Barnes’ trade market is all over the place right now and that is simply because the Kings have yet to make a decision on whether or not they want to “sell” or “buy” at this year’s trade deadline.

Maybe they could do a little bit of both, but ultimately, it does appear that Harrison Barnes is going to be on the move in the coming days.
