Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Collin Sexton, G Ricky Rubio, F Lauri Markkanen, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2025 First-Round Pick

This trade would see both teams, in a sense, think more towards the future.

The Philadelphia 76ers would get two quality guards that could be a part of their rotation for years to come, while the Cleveland Cavaliers would get the fourth piece to their current pizzle.

Ben Simmons hasn’t played in a game this season, obviously, but last year, he was top-two in the Defensive Player of the Year award voting. He’s a constant triple-double threat that plays elite defense and can playmake at a high level, too.

Lauri Markkanen has revived his career a bit in Cleveland. The Arizona product is putting up 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from three-point range in Cleveland.

Meanwhile, both Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio went down with season-ending injuries. However, before that happened, Rubio was playing the best basketball of his career. In addition, Sexton has shown the potential to be an amazing sparkplug scorer.

This definitely isn’t the trade package Daryl Morey was envisioning when he began trade talks surrounding Simmons, but why would the Sixers be interested in this? Also, why should the Cleveland Cavaliers want to make a deal like this one?
