The trade market is thin on All-Star talents this season, which would instantly create a bidding war for Beal should the team look to trade him right now.

This situation with the Wizards though does appear like it will play out in the offseason. Beal has never been one to quit on the Wizards and while he may absolutely be interested in leaving, he will not want to “punish” or “force” something onto the organization that has been so good to him.

Waiting until the offseason to request a trade not only allows Washington to get exactly what they need/want for Beal, but they will not be rushed in the sense of making this decision over the course of a week and on top of everything else, Bradley Beal could still sign his mega contract extension and be a part of a sign-and-trade.

The best package the Philadelphia 76ers can put together to have a shot at acquiring Beal is one that includes Ben Simmons and young talents/assets.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Future For Wizards, Beal Hangs In Balance At Trade Deadline

Washington has not looked like a playoff team this year and it is hard to imagine that they will be able to be a threat in the postseason, even if they do add another high-level talent at the deadline to pair with Bradley Beal.

Simmons has had his struggles in the league, but he is a three-time All-Star, a two-time All-Defensive player and one of the best two-way players in the entire league.

At just 25-years-old, the Wizards could devote themselves to building around Ben Simmons long-term, as well as add a chunk of future value in first-round pick Jaden Springer, an unprotected first-round pick in 2023 and a first-round pick swap in 2024.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Future For Wizards, Beal Hangs In Balance At Trade Deadline

A trade like this involving the 76ers and Wizards would likely happen in the offseason because of the fact that Washington has not given up on their season just yet.

Bradley Beal’s future with the Wizards is definitely going to factor into the decision making of their front office at the NBA trade deadline this season and these recent reports could ultimately result in them going “all-in” with Beal and going after one of the bigger names on the market.
