Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
Quite honestly, should Bradley Beal become available in trade talks in the offseason and request a trade from Washington, almost every team in the league will be inquiring about him.
Ben Simmons is a proven All-Star talent and could absolutely be someone the Wizards can build around moving forward, but is he really someone they want to take a chance on? The 76ers’ All-Star has not played since the playoffs last season and with him fully prepared to sit out this season, this trade would be a huge liability for Washington.
There is no guarantee that Jaden Springer will bring any value to this team and with the 76ers forming one of the better duos in the league with Joel Embiid and Bradley Beal, any draft picks the Wizards would get in this trade would be near the end of the first-round.
Other teams in the NBA will have much better trade packages to offer to Washington, hence why this trade with the 76ers does not make much sense.

Maybe acquiring both Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris in a trade package could change the viewpoint of the Wizards, but then they would be tied down to two high-paying contracts that would result in them going above the luxury tax threshold.
The 76ers can want Bradley Beal all they want and hold out trading Simmons in hopes to land the Wizards’ All-Star, but the chances of doing so right now are low.
