Russell Westbrook – Los Angeles Lakers

It is crazy to believe that the 76ers have held out on trading Ben Simmons all of this time just so they could go and flip him for Russell Westbrook, but Westbrook certainly remains an “option” for them ahead of the trade deadline. 

Will the 76ers trade for Russell Westbrook? There is a really good chance they will not, but the Lakers are open to switching things up on their roster. 

Los Angeles has really struggled this season and while they have not played together much due to injuries, the All-Star trio of Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook really has not helped the Lakers at all this season in terms of being better than they were at this point last season. 

On the season, Russell Westbrook is averaging 18.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 4.1 turnovers per game, all of which are some of the worst marks of his career in recent years.

Trying to convince the 76ers to take on Westbrook’s salary in return for Ben Simmons would be extremely hard for the Lakers to do and there does not appear to be any interest whatsoever from Philadelphia in Russell Westbrook. 

Alas, Russell Westbrook still remains a possible option for the Philadelphia 76ers if they want to just get rid of Simmons next week for anything they can possibly get.
