Bradley Beal – Washington Wizards

Washington is not expected to entertain the idea of trading Beal this season and the now 10-year veteran is expected to finish the season with the Wizards, but the All-Star shooting guard may be having some doubts about Washington’s long-term plan for success.

There was a lot of discussion this past offseason about Bradley Beal’s next contract and if he would remain a member of the Washington Wizards. Now, these discussions have once again popped up right before the trade deadline with the Wizards struggling to find their footing.

According to The Athletic’s David Aldridge and Josh Robbins, Bradley Beal is “conflicted” about his long-term future as a member of the Washington Wizards.

He does have a desire to stay with the organization and continue to try and build something in Washington, but Bradley Beal is “uncertain” about the team’s chances of surrounding him with the “difference-making talent” necessary to succeed.

“Multiple league sources have indicated Beal remains conflicted. His desire to stay for his entire career with the franchise that took him third overall in 2012 remains genuine. But Beal also remains uncertain about whether the Wizards can surround him with difference-making talent that will make them a regular playoff contender. His contention in a recent interview with NBC Sports Washington’s Chris Miller that another Play-In Tournament appearance would be a step back for him spoke volumes.”

Daryl Morey and the 76ers have been wanting a “Tier-1” type player for Ben Simmons and the names at the top of their list include James Harden, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal.

Joel Embiid can only do so much for this team and while Tobias Harris and others have stepped up from time-to-time, the 76ers do not currently have another elite-level scoring weapon like other contenders in the Eastern Conference have.

Philadelphia needs an elite-level scorer in their backcourt like Bradley Beal and quite honestly, he should be entertaining the idea of playing with Embiid.

Beal has never really played with another elite-level player before, even though he has been on the same teams as Russell Westbrook and John Wall in the past, which is why playing with the best big man in the NBA could really help him become a better overall talent than he already is.

No matter what it takes to acquire Bradley Beal, the Philadelphia 76ers should be willing to sacrifice anything but Joel Embiid in a trade. Beal is the best “available” player on the trade market right now and he would instantly make the 76ers favorites to win the East this season.
