Sacramento Kings Trade For Detroit Pistons’ Jerami Grant
Ever since the start of the season, trade rumors have been circulating around the Detroit Pistons and what they would potentially do with Jerami Grant this season. Well, we are one week from the deadline and the Pistons are still conflicted on what to do with Grant!
After signing Jerami Grant to a three-year, $60M deal ahead of last season, the then 26-year-old combo-forward broke onto the scene averaging 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and shooting 42.9% from the floor during the 2020-21 season.
While he has missed some time this season due to thumb surgery, Jerami Grant is back out on the court and is the number one target of the Sacramento Kings right now.
The Kings were in hot pursuit of 76ers’ Ben Simmons over the last few months, but trade talks with the Sixers have seemed to stall out given their disinterest in what Sacramento has to offer.

The Pistons may be a little weary of the Kings’ assets as well, but Marvin Bagley III is a young forward they have had their eyes on dating back to the 2018 NBA Draft and Buddy Hield could be of interest to them given their need for shooters on the perimeter.
The bottom line right now is that the Pistons are rebuilding, similar to the Kings, and should they trade Jerami Grant, they are going to want as much future value as possible.
If Sacramento is willing to trade Marvin Bagley, Buddy Hield and a first-round pick for Jerami Grant and possibly Kelly Olynyk as well, then they may have a real shot at landing the versatile forward from Detroit.
Sacramento needs something to go their way for once and it appears as if their front-office, led by GM Monte McNair are ready to make some big moves. The last time the Kings were in the playoffs was in 2006 and while their playoff drought may continue this season, this organization is committed to turning things around as soon as possible.

Jerami Grant would give the Kings a huge boost on both ends of the floor and also give them a key No. 2 guy next to De’Aaron Fox.
