Boston Celtics Move Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson
The 28-25 Boston Celtics have had a very bumpy season to this point and while they have won five of their last six games, they have still yet to win more than three games in a row this season.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can only do so much for this team and that was proven last season when the Celtics had one of the worst benches in the league, leading to them being unable to advance past the first-round of the playoffs.
Advancing deep into the playoffs is still a goal of the Celtics, but they have to first make the playoffs! Being just 3 games in front of the 11th place Washington Wizards, Boston certainly has their work cut out for them after the All-Star break.
Once again, adding more talent to their roster is going to be essential for the Celtics and with various trade exceptions, they will definitely be one of the more active teams leading up to the trade deadline next week.

However, in addition to utilizing their TPEs, the Celtics are also expected to try and move Josh Richardson and Dennis Schroder. Both players have been key reserves for this team in the second-unit, but Boston has been dangling them both in trade talks recently.
The Celtics acquired Josh Richardson in a trade with the Mavericks this past offseason and while he has shot the ball well, 41.1% from three-point range, they are interested in moving him if they can upgrade their talent on the wing.
Dennis Schroder signed a one-year, $5.9M deal with the Celtics this past offseason after failing to land a big deal in free agency. The Celtics’ intention when they first signed Schroder was to try and leverage him for future assets at some point during the season and this mentality has not changed.
The Cavaliers, Bulls and Pelicans all have a need for another guard in their backcourt right now, making Dennis Schroder a very intriguing trade target leading up to the deadline. Every team in the league is always looking to add shooting depth on the wing as well and both the Utah Jazz and the Minnesota Timberwolves have been mentioned recently as possible trade destinations for Josh Richardson.

Expect the Celtics to not only add a handful of new role players to their bench, but expect them to ship Josh Richardson and Dennis Schroder if they can in order to move below the luxury tax line on the season.
