3. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are so close to being a good team. We saw during the 2020-21 season what they are capable of, as they looked to be on the right path to contention after so many down seasons. But, they have hit a bump in the road this season.
New York has failed to replicate the success they had last season and Julius Randle is at the heart of it once again. Head coach Tom Thibodeau has admitted that he is struggling to get Randle to buy in this season as he did last season.
Ready to possibly shake things up in a big way, New York should be on the radar of some big named players that could be available this upcoming offseason. Bradley Beal would be a great fit in New York as the go-to scorer with Randle and RJ Barrett filling in as the options behind him.
The only hangup is if Beal isn’t fully vaccinated. The Knicks do not want to deal with something similar to what the Brooklyn Nets are with Kyrie Irving being only a part-time player. Beal was one of the biggest names unvaccinated coming into the season, but there were reports that he had changed his stance. That is something the New York Knicks would have to confirm before finalizing an acquisition of him.
