Would this trade make sense for the Miami Heat?
As for the Miami Heat, this move would benefit them for a whole variety of reasons. First and foremost, though, they would be getting another premier talent. Christian Wood is undoubtedly an All-Star-level talent, but he’d have to play a smaller role in Miami, obviously.
They could play him alongside Bam Abdeyao in place of PJ Tucker or bring him off the bench with Tyler Herro if they want to leave Tucker in the starting lineup.
Trading Duncan Robinson would open up some cap flexibility moving forward for them, too. This would potentially allow them to retain crucial pieces such as Max Strus, Omer Yurtseven, and Caleb Martin on long-term deals.
Plus, trading KZ Okpala would be a sneaky win for them, too. This would allow them to not only sign Caleb Martin to a standard contract, but also Kyle Guy. Trading Okpala would open up the necessary roster spot for them to bring in both guys (no pun intended).

Overall, adding Wood to an already stacked Heat team would just be the icing on the cake. They don’t have to make this move, as they are already primed to be in contention for the title, but getting this done could make them even more of a favorite.
