New York Knicks Receive: G Dejounte Murray, F Thaddeus Young
San Antonio Spurs Receive: G Evan Fournier, F Obi Toppin, G Quentin Grimes, G Immanuel Quickley, 2022 First-Round Pick, 2024 First-Round Pick, 2026 First-Round Pick
If the San Antonio Spurs were to give up Dejounte Murray, they would want a massive haul in any deal they make. That means a lot of picks and some quality young players. That’s exactly what they would get getting back in this trade.
Murray has played amazing for the Spurs this season, and legitimately has a case to be an All-Star. The 25-year-old point guard is averaging 19.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from behind the arc.
Evan Fournier would be thrown in only to match salaries in this deal. He hasn’t panned out the way the New York Knicks might have liked, so giving up in exchange for an elite young player shouldn’t be an issue for them.
Now for the young players. Obi Toppin is putting up 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds. Quentin Grimes is averaging 5.5 points on 40.5 percent from deep. Immanuel Quickley is pouring in 10.1 points on 34.4 percent from three-point range.
