Would this trade make sense for the Chicago Bulls?

Lonzo Ball was the first free-agent signing for the Chicago Bulls in the offseason. Alex Caruso followed and then the front office hit a home run by acquiring DeMar DeRozan in a sign-and-trade deal.

Put all of this together and you get one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The only thing that would make it better is Jerami Grant.

Since coming to Detroit, Grant has shown that he is a legitimate scoring threat that can lead an offense. The Bulls would not need him to be the focal point but he is an elite third option.

Grant continues to be one of the best three-and-D players in the league but he wants to be more than that in the standing of a half-court offense. When looking at the overall deal, it is worth Williams if Grant is wanting to compete for a title.

Chicago added Williams with the fourth pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He appeared in and started 71 games as a rookie averaging 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds. Williams played just five games this season before injuring his wrist.

The concern for moving Williams for a player with one year left on his contract is that Chicago is banged up and their potential might be less than what it was. This should not have them shy away from a deal.
