The Boston Celtics are missing something as the NBA trade deadline approaches. They are a .500 basketball team right now, but the talent they have on the roster would lead one to believe that they could be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Regardless, the C’s project to be fighting for the playoffs by year’s end. Jayson Tatum hasn’t been shooting well (despite his recent 51-point performance), the team doesn’t have shooters around him and Jaylen Brown, and despite Marcus Smart’s solid play, they’re still missing an elite playmaker.

Those are the main two needs for the Celtics heading into the NBA trade deadline – shooting and playmaking. If they decide to buy into this current core and make a run in the next few years, then trading for someone who fills those skillsets is crucial.

Enter the Utah Jazz. After a hot start to the year, the Jazz have cooled off in a big way. They are 3-7 in their last ten games and now sit only three games ahead of the fifth-place Dallas Mavericks.
