Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2025 First-Round Pick (Top-20 Protected), 2027 First-Round Pick (Top-20 Protected), 2023 Second-Round Pick, 2028 Second-Round Pick
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: C Derrick Favors, C Mike Muscala, F Kenrich Williams
This is mainly a salary dump, but the Los Angeles Lakers would actually get back a few quality pieces in this deal. The Oklahoma City Thunder would welcome back the best player in their franchise’s history while also getting some picks for their troubles.
Russell Westbrook has been struggling this season, but his numbers don’t look too bad. The 33-year-old is averaging 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.8 assists while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 30.2 percent from behind the arc.
Kenrich Williams would probably be the best piece joining the Lakers in this deal. Kenny Hustle is putting up 7.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 46.0 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from behind the three-point line.
The two big men being sent to LA – Derrick Favors and Mike Muscala – would provide some solid depth, too.

Favors is a fairly traditional big and would be a decent upgrade over DeAndre Jordan and Dwight Howard. Meanwhile, Muscala is shooting very well from three, so that would help with spacing.
Oklahoma City would obviously want picks back in this deal, and for the Los Angeles Lakers, giving those up might be what they have to do. But why would they want to make this trade in particular? And why should the Thunder be interested?
