Trying to find ways to win right now with Bradley Beal at the helm of their franchise, the Washington Wizards went out and flipped Russell Westbrook for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and a draft pick, a deal that is looking like one of the best deals made this past offseason given Westbrook’s inability to be effective in Los Angeles.
Washington has not been bad this season, as they are currently 23-22, but their ceiling this season is to possibly win a playoff series.
They are not a real threat in the Eastern Conference right now and while they themselves would like to keep Bradley Beal long-term, the All-Star shooting guard could want out at any time.
Nobody really knows what to expect from Beal moving forward and while he has stated in the past that he wants to retire in a Wizards’ uniform, that does not mean he will spend his entire career with the team!

The Wizards are not interested in moving Beal at this time, but should he want out of his current situation, his market will be very vast. Multiple playoff contending teams will be lining up to try and land Bradley Beal in a trade, which could ultimately take the Cleveland Cavaliers out of the equation.
Cleveland is not going to want to move on from any of their young talents in Mobley, Garland or Allen, which leaves them with “assets” such as Collin Sexton, Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love, all contracts that the team could want to move on from.
Sexton’s status in Cleveland moving forward is definitely in question since he is out for the season and is set to become a restricted free agent in the offseason, Rubio is just taking up $17.8M in salary space right now and Kevin Love has arguably the worst contract in the league since he is owed $60.2M through next season.

Flipping all three of these guys for Bradley Beal could work wonders for the Cavaliers both this season and moving forward, but if Washington is going to give any thought to trading their All-Star, they are going to have to be blown away by the trade package.
Pairing Bradley Beal with Darius Garland in the backcourt would work wonders for the Cavs, but do they actually have a shot to land him from the Wizards given the assets that they are looking to trade away in this package?
